A Guide to Queensland
Dubbed the Sunshine State, Queensland is where Australians go to holiday. Boasting tropical weather, beautiful beaches and the warm azure waters of the Coral Sea. It’s no wonder it’s Australia’s favourite playground.
When to go
Cairns in the north is in the tropics. This means it’s warm all year round with daytime temperatures at 29°C from December to March, and 26°C from May to August. Tropical downpours occur during December to April but are interspersed with sunshine. Brisbane, in the south of the state, offers an excellent sub-tropical climate. The coolest months are July to August with day temperatures around 21°C. The hottest time of the year is January to February with daytime highs around 29°C.
