A Guide to Victoria
Mountainous areas in the northeast, a rugged and wonderful southern coastline and semi-desert areas in the northwest – the state of Victoria has a lot to offer visitors to Australia.
Renowned for it’s sense of style and elegance, Melbourne boasts glamorous festivals, a passion for eating and drinking, and a flourishing interest in the arts. Outside Melbourne, there is a host of regional attractions, from Philip Island with it’s famous little penguins to the spectacular Great Ocean Road.
When to go
Melbourne and Victoria enjoy four disctinct seasons. Summer (December to February) has plenty of warm, sunny days. Spring (September to November) is fresh and invigorating, and Autumn is a superb time to visit with the changing elaves and moderating temperatures. Winter (June to August) can be cold. Alpine snowfields are three hours from Melbourne by car.
