Enjoy a three day small group tour to the spectacular Danum Valley one of the richest conservation areas in the world with over 200 species of tree per hectare. A complex ecosystem, the forest is home to many endangered wildlife.


Day 1 Kota Kinabalu to the Danum Valley

Transfer from your hotel to Kota Kinabalu Airport for a short flight to Lahad Datu. Depart for 2 hours overland journey on gravel road to Borneo Rainforest Lodge. This is the largest protected area of lowland dipterocarp rainforest in Sabah, covering 43,800 hectares. Borneo Rainforest Lodge is located beside the Danum River. This area is home to the full range of Sabah’s lowland fauna, including Pygmy Elephants, Clouded Leopards and Orang Utans. In the afternoon an introduction to the forest through nature trails to the tree top Canopy Walkway. At night, and if weather permits, one can go spotlighting to view some nocturnal animals.

Day 2 Danum Valley

After breakfast, spend the day exploring the forest for birds and mammals, visiting an escarpment with ancient burial coffins. Trek to a waterfall for a dip in refreshing rock pools. In the afternoon, jungle trek or go “tubing” down the Danum River

Day 3 Danum Valley to Kota Kinabalu

Morning at leisure before your return journey to Kota Kinabalu.
